Lt.J.C.(Jimmy) Gilbert
Images below submitted by Peter Gilbert:

I am the son of Lt.J.C.(Jimmy) Gilbert of the Royal Rifles. My father spent the war in Sham Shi Wi Po. During his stay he kept a very special autograph book with many wonderful contributions (pictures) from the various prisoners and others who were there.

We would like to ask your help in knowing the names of the various artists and who the pictures depicted. We know that some artists were from other countries. If you have any comments / thoughts about them please email them to the web site and they will be included under the appropriate picture.
Regimental crest of the Royal Rifles surrounded by the various Canadian cities of the regiment and its soldiers
Lt.Jimmy Gilbert playing his violin, which his son Peter still has and played in his high school orchestra
Lt Jimmy Gilbert feeding the chickens. He had a diploma in agriculture from MacDonald College. We think he and others would steal out at night and bring back chickens and grains which they would grow in the gardens. as you can see in other pictures the rations were scarce and only rice
