Lauréat Bacon on parade (submitted by Yve Chevarie, grandson)
From Yves Chevarie, Grandson: Photo of Lauréat Bacon with his wife Germaine Bacon (Bussières) and Nicole Bacon. This photo had been probably taken in Valcartier. Was it on the day of the departure to Vancouver? I do not know...
From Yves Chevarie, Grandson: This is the scan of the last letter received from Laureat by my Grandmother. The stamp says "OTTAWA AUG27'42 ONTARIO" and "QUEBEC P.Q. 28 AUG 1942". Laureat passed away on the August 11 1942 at Bowen Road Hospital. So these words had been writen shortly before he died...probably a few days...at the hospital.

I am even not sure that he had write it with his own hand...maybe he was to sick and faint to write it and a friend did it for him. (Because of the drawing of the letters "r" and "B"...The "B" looks like a "D" as if someone ( probably an English speaking body) Who might has not been familliar with the french name spelling?

I do not know....and i sadly never will...

there is finger prints on it!

I would be glad if someone could tell me the meaning of the number on the upper left (148 P.O.W. number?)

And "H. Camp" North Point? As it should be?

See, Laureat was in trainning in Newfoundland when his baby beeing borned. He saw her only two or three times before he left for Hong-Kong....and he never came back...
My Grandmother received those photos with a letter, dated sept 25th 1943, from the ministre de la défense Nationale du Canada
