Enabled by generous funding from Veterans Affairs Canada
This is a fully scripted, multimedia presentation for a high school audience. It describes the events leading to Canada's commitment of soldiers to the defence of Hong Kong, their travel to Hong Kong, the battle itself and the experiences of the soldiers as prisoners of war.
Video clips of veterans, as well as vintage film and photographs make this an excellent tool for teaching this topic. Presentation tips and suggestions for making arrangements with schools are included.
Please note that this is not a self-running presentation! It requires the presenter to read the script to the audience and to advance the slides.
Both English and French versions are contained on the same CD-ROM.
Also included is a "seminar in a box" with material to conduct a seminar for teachers about the topic.
Although created with a high school audience in mind, it is also suitable for presentation to church groups, service clubs and others who are interested in this compelling story.
The current version of the CD is 1.4 (the version number is at the bottom of the CD label). If you have an earlier version and would like to receive a copy of the current version, please send an email to the address below.
