Nick Brune, a well-respected teacher and winner of the Governor-General’s Award in the Teaching of Canadian History, was commissioned by HKVCA to develop a set of lesson plans for use in high school History and Social Studies programmes.

Grade level: Secondary (Gr. 9-12)

For the first time since the initial printing of the Ten Lessons in 2003, the versions in both English and French will be available here in their entirety for teachers and students to use in preparing projects and essays related to the Battle of Hong Kong and its aftermath.

We have grouped the lessons in pairs so that it will simplify the task for teachers of connecting with the individual lessons that serve their classroom needs.
