On
March 12, 2007, Dad celebrated his 90th birthday with his wife, Nada at
his side. They were married 61 years ago, and have resided in the same
house all these years. Dad was so happy to receive birthday letters and
certificates from many dignitaries, including Prime Minister Stephen
Harper and Governor General Michaelle Jean. In spite of a few aches and
pains Mom and Dad still manage to take the bus down to the shopping
centre almost every day. Dad always gets great pleasure out of
receiving the HKVCA's newsletters and in attending the annual reunions
in Winnipeg. We hope Dad's health and happiness can continue for many
years to come, as well as that of his fellow surviving comrades across
Canada.
