Convention and Wall Images

As I write this on 8 March, please note that the General Photo Gallery will be reduced significantly soon with a few photos being transferred to our main Gallery, as those who wished to view the photos have had plenty of time to do that.

• Memorial Wall Gallery - a selection of images depicting the unveiling and dedication ceremony, including high resolution images of the name panels and head shots of the veterans in attendance
• General Photo Gallery - low resolution images of those I've received via email and snail mail. Take a look through them, you may recognize someone!
• Link to Mike Babin's Picasa Album - high resolution photos

Want a high resolution copy of an image that would be suitable for printing? Contact me, giving me the image name. I don't have high resolution copies of them all, but if I don't have one I may be able to forward your request to the image owner.

About Our Image Gallery

This site is designed to be the "picture" part of the main HKVCA web site. As you take a look around, you'll see lots of photos (old and new), scans of newspaper and magazine articles, and historical documents.

Using the Gallery

To save time, click on the "Help" link that you'll find on the master index page. This will open up a window, showing you all the features of JAlbum (the programme used to create the Gallery), allowing you to:

• view slides
• run a slide show
• download a selected image, and, last but not least,
• navigate around the hundreds of slides we have waiting for you.

Searching

As we get the time, we are attempting to provide captions for all items so that they will be indexed by various internet search engines. To save time, try searching on a name - you may be pleasantly surprised!

What You'll Find in the Gallery

 

 

Can You Help?

Thanks to all who have sent in photos and scans. Keep them coming in. Just email us at the address below and we'll get them into the gallery as quickly as possible. Don't forget to annotate each photo with a short description. You can email photo images, or if you'd prefer regular mail, please email us and we'll contact you directly with further instructions.

If you can add any background information to any of our photos, we'd like to hear from you as well.
