Hi, everyone,

I must thank Jim Trick for doing a great job of slimming down, and rearranging sections of the Teachers' Zone to make it even more user-friendly.

There are many areas of interest, and it would be appreciated if you could check through the various sections, and comment on what you see.

Some of you have contributed to the contents of these sections, and you may well have suggestions as to how to make what appears there even more effective.

We are interested in your impressions of the areas where the French language is used. We've had informal chats about how there needs to be enough material for those entering our Writing Contest to provide our francophone particpants with more of a " level playing field" when it comes to responding to the dictates of the Writing Contest rules.

The Ontario Region has begun an initiatve whereby all of the Personal Veterans' stories shown on the Website would be available in a new French language section that would ultimately match the 22 stories currently on the HKVCA Website. We can afford just the first four on the list at the moment, but are hoping that other Regions will consider joining us in supporting the translation work that has to be done. We are open to suggestions relative to obtaining grants and other donations for this purpose - once we have completed the first four, and made them available in the Teachers' Zone.

Please encourage the teachers you know that might have special ideas for the Teachers' Zone to get involved where they can. We're always looking for new materials, and are happy to update those that you feel need to be altered to keep them relevant.

We hope you'll respond at this early stage to the possibilities for change, and new approaches that you may envision, and let us know about them. Bring new ideas to the fore and we'll be happy to incorporate them. With your input, we're sure that the Teachers' Zone, which has already been applauded for what has been accomplished so far, wiill be an even more relevant tool for students, educators and the general public to use in the future.

Cheers! Pat

I like the new layout - easier to see where items are - thanks to all who has worked on this.
